CPA - Continued Prosecution Application (design only)
A CPA (Continued Prosecution Application) is a type of continuing application used to continue the prosecution of a design patent application, changing the strategy if the original application is not going well. The drawing must be the same as in the original application, which will be abandoned when the CPA is filed, with the CPA taking its place. The CPA is especially useful when you want to keep arguing for the patentability of a design patent that would otherwise be rejected.
